I said in a previous post that I was not going to post any Solange images any more (you can read why here), but every hibernation needs an awakening, true?  This spread of Solange and son, plus friends, was in the latest issue of Elle and is too good not to share.  I love peeking into other people’s home.  Guess I’m just nosey like that.  So enjoy this week’s Eclectic Best.  It kind of makes me want to throw a dinner party and then chill with my guests in my living room salon (a word I haven’t used since I tried to teach myself French).

Lip Artistry

make-upBeauty Supplieslip gloss

Quick, lip gloss or lipstick?  Lipstick is nice, but for me it’s lip gloss, all day, every day.  So of course I was thrilled when I recently received a nice little package of glosses  in the mail from my blog friend, and beauty professional, Sondra of Chic Chocolate.  If you haven’t had a chance to check out her blog then you may not know that Sondra has her own line of products called Artistry, is a Beauty Contributor to Jones Magazine and is a make-up artist.   I’ve been having so much fun playing with the colors and switching them up from day to night and I’m still torn between shades of peachy browns or berries.  Which colors do you tend to go for?  Do tell.

Demestiks NYC

Demestiks NYCwax print

Demestiks NYC by Reuben Reuel is why Etsy is such a great avenue for independent creatives.  I can never get enough of wax prints and these pieces are not just girly, but are completely wearable.  African print and design isn’t going anywhere, so whether its fashion or décor you might as well jump on the train, if you haven’t already.  You like?  Peruse the rest of Demestiks NYC’s collection here.
