I don’t know about the city you dwell in, but here in the Bay Area it has been a pretty cool summer (then again, I’m always cold). And with us smack-dab in the middle of August and September nearing, I’m already thinking of my fall wardrobe. But before I pull out the scarves and boots, I’m all about ripped and shredded jeans because they’re the perfect transition between seasons. During hotter days holey jeans act as an air-conditioner operating on a low setting and on cooler days they’re just cool. The best thing about shredded jeans is you can either go out and buy a pair, or choose the cost-friendly option and distress an old pair in your closet. And here’s the thing about buying a new pair of ripped jeans: they’re priced at the same point, sometimes higher, than their perfect counterparts. And they should be less expensive, shouldn’t they? Oh, that’s another post, but if you catch my drift, check out this DIY by Flourish for a fail-proof way to do up your own jeans.
I checked out the DIY, she did a great job with it. You’re so right about just DIYing it. Cheap jeans or a second hand pair would work well and if you mess up it’s AOK.
