Mag Stacks

I want my Exhibits A & B to look like…

17doors4Exhibit C.

I’ve been wanting to do away with my stacks and stacks of magazines for awhile now because I just don’t have the time to go through them like I used to.  But I immediately talk myself out of it because what if I need them for reference or what if I need a little moodboard tear sheets.  So if I’m going to keep them I decided I need to do something somewhat creative with them and figured Exhibit C could do.  The only problem is how did they manage to get those towers of magazines perfectly aligned without toppling over.  Trust me, I tried and I have a paper cut to prove it.  No bueno.  so what say you… Recycle the mags or stack ‘em high?

  1. I wonder the exact same thing…but then in exhibit C those look more like books or catalogs rather than magazine. Personally I’ve done away with a large number of my magazine— except for Domino and Martha Stewart and have begun collecting decor/shelter magazines from the 40s-70s

  2. When my mag addiction reached overwhelming proportions, I went thru
them and tore out what I was attracted to. This narrowed it down to
workable size and then I stored them in labeled folders. However, your
exhibit C is quite awesome! vronvron

    • Now, that is what I call organization. If I get too overwhelmed by my magazines, I just might steal your idea and store my favorite tear sheets in folders or something similar. Thanks for commenting.

    • I do that too. I actually make collages on paper with glue with stuff I’ve cut out. So outside of interior design industry related mags, all the others are on a rotation basis & get tossed within a month or two. I always snatch out.

  3. I love yours! I have baskets from pier 1 in front of my coffee table full of mags because my beautician & coworkers all give me mags. I also have a tv tray stand on the side of my couch with mags on top lol. Those are then ones I must read first.
