I hope you’re no scared of color because Duro Olowu’s Fall 2013 collection is not for the minimalist, timid, or those afraid of their own shadows.  But even if monotone is your thing, you must admit this is a fun collection to look at, right?

I pinned these new Zara sandals to my Shoes & Accessories board over on Pinterest a few days ago and I have clicked over to the Zara site no less than five or six times since just to stare at them.  I’ve had to will myself away from the “add to basket” button because my wallet ain’t having it (and I just picked up a pair of pillows over on One Kings Lane).  What’s a budget-conscious, style maven (ha!) like myself supposed to do… Ugh.  You like?

Not only does it get styling, and print, and fabric right, but the overall feel of the shop is a summer day walking around in sandals, sipping on coconut water, and enjoying the occasional breeze. 

There’s something special about this shop, even at first glance.  If you’re on the search for original threads, be sure to peruse the latest designs.

Upon seeing this space, I was immediately on the verge of a serious scream because purple is one of those things (color is a thing, right?) that I want to keep to myself.  It’s like that amazing local band that only those bold enough to tread in the dankest parts of the city get to witness.  Those bold souls know the nuances of every song, the inflections in the lead singers voice, and which song goes with any given mood.  And they know all of that long before the rest of the world does, which is what tends to happen to those things we especially want to keep close to us.  We feel betrayed, annoyed when they appear on late night tv or hit a million YouTube views because the public is only appreciating them when money and popularity are involved.  But I digress… While purple has been around longer than my thirty-odd years, it’s still mine.  You hear me, purple?  You belong to me.  But, yes, you do this apartment justice, particularly the rug.

Justin is grown, ladies, and he wants everyone to know he is on his suit and tie, suit and tie, suit and tie.  I love the intro to the song, but not the way Justin has been teasing us with his new album and single in what seems like a decade before he finally introduced it a couple of weeks ago.  So while we wait for the official music video, Justin has put together this official lyric video (yes, lyric video) which is a typographer’s dream, especially if he or she has a penchant for sans serif.  So sit back, watch and enjoy. Oh, and answer me this… Why couldn’t this be the official music video?  Hmmm…
