Love Me Some Me {Wallpaper}

Desktop wallpaper is here, my friends.  Here’s the details… A few weeks ago I decided to get a new laptop after losing and unsuccessfully gluing a few keys, as well as the screen eventually blacking out, among other things. As much as I wanted to splurge on a Mac, I went with the tried and true HP and I’ve been on the hunt for a new desktop wallpaper image ever since, especially considering all of my files and images are stuck on my old laptop.

So I wanted to create an image that’s feel-good without being too cheesy and since love me some you/him/her/insert name is one of my favorite things to say, I decided love me some me will do, because if I don’t love me, who will.  Love thyself!

And not only did I create desktop wallpaper, I also have for you the iPhone wallpaper.  So click on the links below to get your own wallpaper.  Enjoy.

Count It All Joy

count_joy“Count is all joy” is one of my favorite biblical quotes (James 1:2) because it’s so not in my nature to think on the bright side or to think of the glass as half-full.  You’ve read Aesop’s fable of The Tortoise and the Hare, right?  Well, I’ve always been the tortoise; things just seem to take a long time to happen in my life and I have to motivate myself daily to continue.  And of course, that is easier said than done.  While a lot of great opportunities are happening in my life right now, I count the good, the bad, the waiting, and the persevering, as JOY!  I have to, or I’ll never enjoy this journey I’m on.  Do you have a verse that motivates you to keep going?  In your own personal journey, are you the tortoise or the hare, or some kind of cute animal in between?

Pinning Like a Mad Woman

Ah yes, the social networking site of the moment is Pinterest and I’ve said it before, but I’ll say it again… I’m completely hooked on collecting my favorite images for both future reference and to get the scoop on artists, fellow bloggers and creatives that I may not have met otherwise.

Recently I pared down my collection to 21 boards to force myself to be more picky with my pins and only keep those images that truly inspire me.   Believe it or not, this was a challenge because when it comes to inspiration I tend to be a hoarder.  I’ve even limited my likes page, choosing to use it as a holding area for images I’m not sure I want to add to a board.

On a side note, I’ve made a vow to myself to stop pinning, tumbling or posting images of Solange Knowles.  It’s absolutely nothing against her, but I liken it to hearing a new song and being super excited about it, and then radio plays it death and you just swear if you hear that song one more time you will have a conniption.  Well, that sums up my feelings on images of Solange at the moment.  I admire her style evolution and she is super smart to take every opportunity that comes her way, but like that song that the radio played out, I’ll appreciate her style all the more if I put some distance between us.  Does that make sense?  So are you on Pinterest?  If you’ve been pinning, let us know your handle so we can check out your pins.
